Resources for Military Personnel and Veterans

Loyola University New Orleans is proud to assist our nation's veterans and active duty military with the opportunity to achieve their academic goals.

We recognize the unique experiences that veterans bring to our campus, and Loyola appreciates the sacrifices that veterans have made for our country. To fit the mobile lifestyle of military personnel and their families worldwide, Loyola is committed to providing affordable and flexible education to members of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, and their dependents.

  • Loyola participates in the Yellow Ribbon program for those veterans who are 100% eligible for the Post 9-11 benefit and provides generous contributions to supplement the Post 9/11 GI Bill for all levels of study. Loyola’s annual Yellow Ribbon maximum limits are:
    • Undergraduate programs - $12,000
    • Graduate programs (including business and doctorate of nursing) - $12,000
    • Graduate law school programs - $12,000 (for up to 25 students)
  • GI benefits can be used for online distance learning approved programs.
  • Loyola has signed the DoD MOU which allows us to participate in tuition assistance.
  • Depending on your specialty in the military and the degree you wish to pursue, you may be able to transfer academic credit that you earned in the military.

Prior to enrolling, prospective students should speak with their Education Service Officer (ESO) or Education Counselor within their respective military service.
